SERVICES

At WAI, we are revolutionizing the way mental health care is delivered, using community-based approaches that focus on healing and empowerment. Our mission is to enhance executive functioning for disadvantaged individuals facing complex challenges like substance abuse, PTSD, homelessness, and mental health issues. We provide a wide array of therapeutic services designed to meet individuals where they are, offering culturally relevant care and compassionate support.

What We Do

Substance Abuse Treatment

WAI offers specialized programs for individuals struggling with substance abuse, designed to address both the addiction and the underlying causes. We provide the tools necessary for recovery through evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Discrete Trial Training (DTT)

A structured, one-on-one approach to behavioral learning that helps individuals improve social and communication skills.

Individual and Group Therapy

Participants engage in therapy sessions that focus on the root causes of their addiction, emotional regulation, and coping mechanisms.

Peer Support Networks

Our team of 6 Domestic Peers provides ongoing support from those who have successfully navigated recovery, ensuring that no one walks the journey alone.

WAI provides a comprehensive path to recovery, combining therapeutic reinforcement with community support.

Reentry Support

Individuals leaving the criminal justice system face unique challenges in reentering society, including PTSD, employment barriers, and lack of housing. Our reentry programs are focused on empowering individuals to build new lives, find stability, and thrive post-incarceration. We aim to reduce recidivism by offering comprehensive services that address mental health, job readiness, and life skills.

Housing Support

Stable housing is a crucial part of recovery and well-being. WAI’s subsidiary organization, UNIEC, oversees the Housing Support services, ensuring that vulnerable individuals, including those experiencing homelessness, can access safe and reliable housing while they work through their recovery.

Immediate Crisis Response: UNIEC’s Peer Safety Unit (PSU) offers crisis intervention for homeless individuals unable to regulate their behavior. The PSU provides transportation to WAI’s Observation & Objectives Center, a secure facility where individuals can receive mental health care and housing assistance.

Long-Term Housing Solutions: UNIEC connects individuals with permanent housing solutions, ensuring that they have a stable foundation to rebuild their lives.
